Sex Toy Review - Lovense Gravity (automatic thrusting dildo)

Hi! This is Yersi from Gentle Dungeon and I’m here to review the Gravity, one of the newest releases by Lovense. This toy consists of a thrusting and vibrating dildo that can connect to your phone via Bluetooth, as well as being able to be controlled long distance through the internet.

I was really excited to test this toy – I truly enjoy thrusting dildos but sadly don’t have the money (or space) to purchase their very well-regarded sex machine.

Even though Lovense has sent me previous toys free of charge, this one was bought with my own money. I am also giving an unbiased opinion based solely on my experience with it.

Quick intro to Lovense

If you know what Lovense is, feel free to skip this part!

Just as a quick introduction, if you don’t know Lovense, they are a high-end sex toy manufacturer that produces really cool toys, all of which have one thing in common: they can be long distance controlled, either by yourself or someone close by with a Bluetooth connection to your toy, or through the internet where you can connect your toy to someone literally anywhere in the world.

I know nowadays remote-controlled sex toys aren’t exactly new, but Lovense was the first company that made this possible with their iconic toy Lush, and honestly, they are still the ones who do it best. I’ve tested many of their toys and I’ve never had connectivity issues, which is something I can’t really say about other brands.

What the Gravity is

The toy describes itself as a Bluetooth automatic thrusting vibrator. It’s a red, straight dildo (meaning it has no curves), that vibrates and goes in and out of you. It has two buttons, one that controls the thrusts and another that sets the intensity of vibrations. The thrusting can go up to 140 strokes a minute. Both functionalities can be controlled through the app as well, and are adjusted separately. It contains a few vibration patterns (three continuous ones with variable intensities and a few others that mix up patterns), but you can always create your own in the app.

He is a big boy (measurements below), but you aren’t supposed to insert all of it inside yourself. I did it up to where its seams are placed. The toy is covered in silky-smooth medical grade silicone and it’s red (which I love!).

The battery is said to last up to 240 minutes of active use and 120 hours of standby. It charges with an USB cable that attaches magnetically to the toy.

The toy comes with its charging cable, an user manual, a black little satchel where you can keep it and an attachable suction cup that you can use in smooth surfaces at any angle.

It’s IPX6 water resistant (meaning it can survive jets of water), but Lovense alerts that you cannot submerge it or rinse the bottom part of the dildo, as it can damage the toy permanently.

The Gravity and its box contents

Currently, the Gravity doesn’t synch with any other toys from the company, but this is always something that can be updated in the future.

At the present moment, the Gravity is being sold at their store for the price of $129 USD. Definitely not cheap, but considering the amazing quality of their toys and for how much other thrusting toys and sex machines are sold for, this is a fair price in my opinion.

With all of that said, let’s get to my experience with the toy.

My Opinion

When I caught wind of this new release, I got very excited because I was looking forward for a thrusting toy that didn’t cost a massive fortune or occupied a ton of space. Even though the reviews for their sex machine are always extremely positive, I live in a small place where I don’t have much space for my kinky gear, and not a lot of disposable income to spend on it. So, I purchased the Gravity and proceeded to test it once it got to me.

In my honest opinion, this toy is fantastic if you like thrusting motions during penetration. It is like no other toy I have ever tested, and it could be a budget sex machine if you’d like that.

I will say that, during my experience with it, not all positions worked. The toy is stiff and has a straight body – and I tend to do better with dildos that curve. I was worried by that, and initially, I had a little bit of trouble making it work. I stimulated myself a lot with other toys beforehand to make it fit properly, and I was most comfortable when riding it instead of lying down.

It also worked much better when used with the suction cup. At first, I tried using the Gravity just holding it with my hands, and it didn’t work very well. The motor stalled a bit when trying to thrust, I imagine because my hands were not providing a solid base for it to stand, and possibly because I was still not loose enough to accommodate it inside me. A few more minutes of clitoral play and using the toy with its suction cup solved this issue – the motor didn’t stall, it felt awesome and it provided quite unique sensations.

The suction cup

I have to give special praise to the suction cup – it is incredibly strong. You could pull someone’s soul out off their body with this bad boy. It makes the toy super firm and it is easily attachable by screwing it at the base of the Gravity.

The base where you attach the suction cup

When the suction cup is not attached to the toy, the Gravity has a small cap to cover the place where you’re supposed to screw its base. This is the only part of the toy I didn’t like, as the cap is rather loose and could end up being lost. I think I’ll keep this cap in the toy’s box and only use it with its suction cup.

The cap over its base

I had no issues cleaning the Gravity. There were some complaints about cleaning it in between its seams and how that’s hard and inconvenient. That was not my experience. You can easily pull apart the seams with your fingers and clean in between them if any body fluids get wedged there. It is also possible to use a Q-tip.

Pulling the seams apart

The battery, as always, lasts a massive amount of time. Never been disappointed with the battery life of any Lovense toy I’ve ever owned. I also had no issues using the Gravity connected to the app. However, one important thing to consider is that this toy is very noisy, so if you don’t have a lot of privacy, maybe this is not the best choice for you.

Can i put this up my booty?

The most common question I’ve seen being asked about the Gravity is if it can be used for anal. You would assume it’s safe because it has a very big and strong suction cup that works as a base, but Lovense is currently recommending it only for vaginas.

I think the reasons they are being cautious in recommending this toy for anal use is the possibility of the suction cup detaching itself – as it is only screwed to the toy, albeit I think the this would be a rare occurrence – and the fact that anuses tend to be tighter than vaginas. As I said above, the toy’s motor stalled with me when I wasn’t properly relaxed (though that can also have happened because my hand wasn’t providing a firm enough base).

In MY opinion (not the brand’s), I think this could be safely used for anal, given that you make sure the suction cup is firmly attached to the base of the toy, and that you use tons of lube and a butt plug to loosen yourself up before you play with the Gravity. If you are going to do this though, be aware of the risks and keep checking if the suction cup is still firmly attached, just so there’s no chance you’ll go to the ER with a massive red schlong residing in your rectum.

The massive red schlong

Conclusion

If you like penetration and toys that can thrust into you, but don’t want to drop a small fortune on a sex machine, I think you will love this toy. It works much better with its suction cup and it might take you a few tries to find the perfect position to use it, but once you do, you’ll have a lot of fun. I’d also recommend some foreplay before if you’re not used to bigger dildos/penises. Anal use, while not recommended by the company, could work with lots of lube, a plug to loosen you up first and the suction cup firmly attached to the Gravity’s base.

I hope this review was helpful to you and that, if you end up purchasing this toy, you will have lots of fun with it!
